Reducing time between object detections in the same frame is critical because full scene comprehension requires multiple detect events. The white paper also discusses the significance of resolution and how "agile" resolution provides greater safety through faster response time, particularly when pairing ROIs with convolutional neural networks. The paper also discusses the concept of "identification range" which includes the latency from the actual event to the sensor detection plus the latency from the sensor detection to the CPU decision.
